Have had gerd for years that is non symptomatic. Never knew I had it. A Doctor noted it when I went for my first pre-op for a colonoscopy. Saw my teeth were eroding and asked if I was being treated for acid reflux. Nope! He asked if he could do another test at the same time as my colonoscopy and I agreed. I was diagnosed with hiatal hernia at that time 6 years ago. On February 11th this year, I started to cough and having a hard time inhaling without coughing. It got worse and I would almost pass out. In the process of bouncing around to doctors (very slow process!!), to resolve my problem. Trying to figure out if it is my hiatal hernia doing this. They have giving me sprays for asthma and tested for that and ruled it out. Waiting to see a pulmonologist which is a month away. Going crazy not being able to breath. Any suggestions???
