I have used colloidal silver for years as a nose spray throat spray. I have been reading about using it in a nebulizer. Thoughts?

@bluesplashgirl …I too have used colloidal silver for probably 25+ years. I had hoped it a possible remedy for MAC but the following article stopped me…especially scroll down to Use Caution and Common Sense and also the Not So Fast paragraph. No matter how much internet searching, I could not get comfortable with any long term nebulizing of CS. Colloidal Silver has been a go-to for bacterial infection for myself and my animals but nebulizing gives me pause. (tried nebulizing for maybe a week then stopped) There was someone on this site that had used it for her mom and had reported terrific short term success but she disappeared and then could not be reached for any followup. This article is written by someone that sells silver generators, so if he is advising caution, I would pay attention. I think I would use it for a short course with pneumonia or bronchitis but certainly not long term. https://thesilveredge.com/nebulize-colloidal-silver/ Good luck!! Kate
@pfists might be able to give you more input.
Thank you! I subscribe to the SilverEdge. I will read more throughly when I return to the states. Thank you!
@alleycatkate Thank you for the link, this has been promoted to me by people who encourage alternative and complimentary medicine and I was never able to find a reasoned article to refer to – only the "gut feeling" that inhaling metal particles was risky business – especially since it is quite possible exposure to industrial pollutants over many year is part of the reason for my bronchiectasis.
@sueinmn …There is always so much chatter about alternative measures which makes it hard to dig out practical solutions. (though I often go the alternative route) ..After I saw this article, I stopped searching. The author is just too darn practical to argue with…. I agree that your gut instinct was on the money!! Kate
I would not use saline and coloidal silver together. I thought maybe the two together made me forgetful, lost and foggy. I have used it as a nose spray for years and then i went to drops under the tongue and then to the nebulizer. Not a good Idea in my oppinion.Mac is going to get me if I don't kill myself with the concockshunions I take. I failed spelling in school as u can see. Garry
Thanks for the input Gary!
I’ve used a nebulizer with colloidal nano silver with great results. My SpO2 used to read between 90-92% while sitting down. I have COPD and I’m O2 mostly at night. After using nano colloidal silver over the last 2 months, my SpO2 % at rest is between 97-99% everyday now.
I use 30ppm nano silver in my nebulizer at least twice a day for 5 mins. Deep inhaling after a few regular breaths, then deep inhale and exhale completely. Seems to work for me.
I also do this after going out to a store while wearing my mask. Seems to cleanse my nose and lungs of possibility of getting any Covid.
I would encourage anyone using or considering colloidal silver (aka nano-silver) in a nebulizer to read this article. Silver has many amazing properties, and used carefully can be helpful. However, there are few scientific studies about the safety of long-term use or of use in a nebulizer solution. It is highly technical, but there are several paragraphs that address these issues in layman's terms:
Of greatest concern to me, anyone using colloidal silver, CBD or any other complimentary medicine or supplement needs to be totally transparent and disclose this to all of their doctors and pharmacists. 10 years ago my sister was using a supplement recommended by her naturopath that, when combined with her prescription drugs, caused acute pancreatitis and kidney failure, from which she has never totally recovered.

OMG Sue! Your sister had some very serious consequences. Would you mind sharing what supplement she was using so that the rest of us can beware? Thanks!
I don't remember. Only the call from my nephew that she was in the ICU and the doctor was furious because he had told her to "stop all supplements" as she was on a number of Rx meds. When we went to get her house ready to go home after hospital, we removed 2 wine case sized boxes full of bottles and pouches of all kinds of herbs and vitamin compounds. She was furious with us when she got home because she fully intended to resume at least some of them. That was the 3rd time supplements sent her to the hospital – not due to overdoses, but due to bad interactions. That's why we need to be totally educated and up-front with our providers. I carefully use essential oils (externally) and I'm even cautious with them.
Yes Sue, your comment “ the gut feeling that inhaling metal particles was risky business,” does sorta make “ordinary, everyday” air pollution seem like a walk in the park. Don
Colloidal silver has come up several times in the MAC group. When it comes to supplements and complementary medicine, I always refer to NIH's National Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine to better understand the proven evidence. See this information:
– Colloidal Silver https://nccih.nih.gov/health/silver
The first section of the page states: What’s the Bottom Line?
How much do we know about colloidal silver?
There are no high quality studies on the health effects of taking colloidal silver, but we do have good evidence of its dangers.
What do we know about the effectiveness of colloidal silver?
Claims made about the health benefits of taking colloidal silver aren’t backed up by studies.
What do we know about the safety of colloidal silver?
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has said that colloidal silver isn’t safe or effective for treating any disease or condition.
According to Dr. Brent Bauer from Mayo Clinic says "Colloidal silver isn't considered safe or effective for any of the health claims manufacturers make. Silver has no known purpose in the body. Nor is it an essential mineral, as some sellers of silver products claim."
