Has anyone had a myringotomy to relieve pressure?

I have had what I think is a blocked eustachian tube for at least 3 weeks now. At the beginning, I had severe vertigo and my head felt heavy and confused at times. After starting on Flonase, symptoms have subsided but still have too frequent bouts of dizziness and vertigo. ENT is suggesting a myringotomy where he will puncture my eardrum to relieve pressure. Wondering if I should give it more time for Flonase to do its thing or go ahead with the myringotomy? Thank you in advance!
