Hardening across lower back causing severe pain in walking

Posted by prayersforall @prayersforall, Aug 17, 2025

Being a 'kid' of many, many decades ... one who still writes with
pen to paper and puts letters in the mailbox, I'm saddened to
be faced with my chronic pain.

Some/most days are filled with so much pain. Getting up in the
morning, and thanking God for this beautiful new day ...make
this a happy, positive way to start the day. I do my chores as
best I can. Then, after a few steps, I'm 'angry' why my legs didn't
hear my plea or 'get my letter'.

I have asthma and ... that's a story for another time.
I have since been put on QVAR for the asthma. Could it be
that after a few weeks of doing Qvar ... this is affecting my
painful walking and severe back pain? Yes. The doctor knows
and advises me to lessen 'puffs'. The only ones who really know
about this pain (other than devoted children who should get a
medal for listening) is the one wearing those shoes.

I hope no one ever feels this pain or any chronic pains. If someone
has this 'happiness', please tell me. At this time, 'feh' to pills and
injections. Is it part of growing "younger"? Arthritis is arthritis
and unless the fountain of youth is finally found ... we have to
'hang in'. There's lots of 'us kids' on the tree. Let's all try to keep on ... keeping on. Good Luck to all.

I have arthritis in my entire spine, stenosis, L4/ L5 fusion, numerous back procedures and surgeriess, physical therapy too many times to even count, and neuropathy in both feet. I also have undefined asthma which is still in progress of getting that under control but that’s another story. For my back I take x3 100mg daily of Pregabalin and had a pain pump surgically put in my back due to the severe pain I was in. I’m about 50% better which a miracle! The next step would have been a wheelchair. I also use Stop Pain Gel over the counter which also helps and can be bought online in a large pump container or in roll on form at Walmart. I hope some of this info. has been helpful to you and may God bless.

@mina2021 im in excruciating spine pain from a removed spinal cord stimulator, and other issues, I wouldn't have the courage to do a pump after my body rejected the Stimulator but I gotta say the thought of living with this excruciating pain for the rest of my life is pretty daunting...Sadly I have learnt , Drs still have a great deal to learn and I no longer trust the opinion of the majority of them. They have compounded my problems thru very poor choices, I was too green to know better...now I do , its kinda far down the line.

I have siatica lumbar and tightning in my lower back which ,, keeps my body ; especially my legs in pain;; I am hesitant myself in going to a orthopedic or neurological Dr. because I already did that like 5 years ago;; they did thankfully offer me Physical Therapy and Pain management Doctors to see...
I'm going to take their advice ,,, In this coming New Year 2026..
I hope you try again and at least find a Dr. Who will give you medication to deal with the pain..
Warm wishes 💕

@anniesezu812 I had a spine stimulator also before I decided to do the pain pump. My next choice was a wheel chair if I didn’t have the pain pump implant. You get a trial so you know what it will feel like before the actual surgery. I know I will never be pain free but was a game changer for me. Don’t wait because it’s only going to get worse. Best of luck sweetie. God bless.

@mina2021 Thank you for that, I have worried about that🥹.
Do you still have Stimulator??

The stimulator quit working and the stimulator was moving close to my spine for some unknown reason so it was removed. In between that and the surgery to put the Pain Pump put in I tried every cream, lotion, even medicinal marijuana that was horrible! I’m glad with the final decision that I made. Technology is great!

I'm going to try myofascia release when my current herniated disc heals. Also I have read hypnosis can be very helpful and accupuncture to a point.
Im at a point I need to try hollistic methods now. We are all on different journeys but sharing experiences is so helpful. Thanks!!
