Frontoparietal Meningioma: Anyone else?

Posted by Kw @kellieboothwalker, Jun 9 9:28am

I was diagnosed 4/21/2026 with a 1.3cm Right Frontoparietal Meningioma. I went to the er with dizziness like no other I had ever had, nausea, some tunnel vision, and then developed right-sided tingling and numbness. Ruled out stroke and had MRIs with and without contrast. Then referred to neurosurgeon and neurology. Neurology did assessment and noted I have some possible neuropathy on right and left side. Did some labs and they were all normal. I am now having an EMG and mri of the cspine this upcoming friday. She wasn't convinced my symptoms were coming from the meningioma and maybe they aren't. I have had some balance issues randomly since last year and notice some word finding issues this year prior to finding out about the meningioma. Repeating MRI in august to see if any growth. Just wanted to hop in on the support group site. I like to see other stories and follow ups.

Good luck to you. I know you must be anxious. Keep us posted.

Where are you going for treatment? I have a lower right side base of skull menigioma diagnosed 7 months going for my second MRI later this month. Hopefully it has not grown.

I have morning headaches. I have exhaustion but I also have a low platelet count so I don't know what is causing it or it just may be the fact that Iam 79 years old LOL
Best of luck. Keep me posted

Emg and c spine mri have landed me now to spine appt and lumbar mri. Findings do explain symptoms and maybe not from meningioma. Idk. Still ready to know if August brain mri shows any growth (praying not!!)

Hi: my thoughts are with you. Sounds like what I went through 2+ years ago. I had a silent seizure, the hospital did an MRI and found a golfball sized benign tumor in my front left forehead. Said it may have been slowly growing for 20 years. Who knew? I thought I was just depressed. I went from barely walking or talking to close to normal within a few days. But the seizure medications I take now have really messed up my energy and balance, and altogether I’ve “missed” a few years of my life. I now also have pretty severe neuropathy, which has really curtailed my life. I’ve had so many neurological tests, nerve tests, cardio tests, etc. but all the results are normal. Does it have anything to do with the brain tumor? Again, who knows? Keep taking any tests they suggest, going for your MRIs, and don’t ever give up! I’m rooting for you.

We just have to stay positive. Not so easy sometimes. People look at you and think you are fine
But we are not
I think the unknown can be very hard to face. Praying for you

@dbicher I thought I sent a reply to you, but I don't see it. If this is a repeat, apologies (trying to figure this system out). Did they do an EEG to diagnose the silent seizure? Just wondering how it as diagnosed since you are on medication. They gave me 2 doses of Keppra in the hospital but didn't continue it since my EEG was normal and didn't indicate seizures. The side effects of some of the antiseizure medications are sometimes awful along with neuropathy medications. I will continue to pursue the reason for my symptoms. Are your repeat MRI's showing no growth?
