Fight Colorectal Cancer with Your #StrongArmSelfie

Dr. Paul Limburg of Mayo Clinic says colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of deaths from cancers that affect both men and women, and yet with appropriate screening it is among the most preventable. That’s why Mayo Clinic produced this video as part of the #StrongArmSelfie campaign by Fight Colorectal Cancer.

Dr. Limburg says for the general population, colorectal cancer screening should start when you’re 50. Your risk is higher if you’re an African American or have a family history of colorectal cancer, so screening should start at a younger age, after discussion with your doctor. About a third of those who should be screened currently aren’t; hopefully this campaign will help change that.
