Fear
I have been getting my health insurance from the Marketplace. I found a policy that I was able to afford but now, if the subsidies are taken away, it is over $1000 a month! Who can afford that? I can not. I am scared and furious. I have had Long COVID for over 3 years now and I do not know exactly what this virus is doing to me. I know that I have tinnitus, loss of smell and taste at times, fatigue, malaise and other weird symptoms. Not having health insurance is frightening and unacceptable.

@diverdown1 I am so sorry to read this, truly I am. What our government is doing right now with regard to healthcare and health insurance is abhorrent. They are supposed to be working FOR US. This affects our right to a life with dignity.
Please know that from where I am in Florida, I do all I can to demand affordable and accessible healthcare for ALL.
I can tell you (because I’ve done a fair amount of research) that those living in a blue state have state-run healthcare exchanges that are affordable. Massachusetts, for example, has a state-run exchange that the ACA was modeled after.
I don’t know where you live, of course, and moving is hard, expensive, and certainly isn’t for everyone. But it might be a viable option, because your health comes first.
I also fervently hope that medical providers will understand that their delivery models might have to change until this entire mess is sorted out, and that they will meet us where we are.
I am sending you so much strength and support. Take good care of yourself now. Manage your stress and do not overdo. You have me and so many others in your corner. 🙏🏻

7 ReactionsMy Parents are Struggling I'm kind of struggling but not as bad as some... For me I'm on a good Insurance and a affordable supplement. The out of pocket is what is killing me. 3,467.00 is the amount so 35 every office visit and $160 for ct scans and X-rays I've needed I am fortunate to live in a state with a college hospital and I'll be traveling there for a more evasive visit. I should be 💯% covered at this facility. Good Luck Take care of yourself and Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays 🎄

5 Reactions@kristine31 Yes, do watch out for those out-of-pocket expenses. This is a feature that shouldn’t exist at all!
I have to be careful because in my county, two big hospital systems were cut from the list of in-network providers. So the hospital, hospital services (like physical therapy), and the doctors in that system are not covered under my insurance anymore.
If a doctor is in-network at one of those, as well as another system that is still in-network, I can see them. It’s so ridiculous and infuriating…and there might be a third hospital system that is removed from our options in the new year!
It sounds as though your costs going into 2026 are somewhat set, and that’s a good thing. Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy 2026! 🎄

4 ReactionsHi,
I'm so sorry you are having such awful physical problems and now the insurance issue too! Are you old enough for Medicare? My husband died two years ago and his insurance would be there for me but very expensive and only for 3 years! I called Medicare and they got me Medicare Humana Advantage insurance. It has no permium and all of the prescriptions are covered! Even if you aren't old enough for Medicare call Humana. They have reasonably priced insurance plans for all ages.
Prayer also works. Just ask God for his help and you will get it. It states in the Book of Matthew that he knows of all of your needs and he does! I will say a prayer for you also.
I wish you the best.
Merry Christmas!

4 ReactionsHealth care is ridiculous. I’m sorry you’re going thru all this. Have u checked to see if u qualify for Medicaid? Each state has their own version. Some even help for food wise, money wise and health care. U can also talk with a lawyer to see about disability

I'm sorry that you didn't qualify for Medicaid! Have you looked into local hospitals in your area that may offer financial assistance? Often they do offer this option. I think you can just go to their websites and find out.
Also churches may help you too. I know the Mormon Church will because I'm a Mormon. However, I'm sure other churches would help as well.
Ask God for direction. I'll say a prayer for you also.
