I’m not sure but if you had a revision back in July; some seven months ago I would either be seeing my orthopedic surgeon or seeking a second opinion because this is not right! Did your orthopedic surgeon place a drainage hole? My wife had had 6 hip implants and never did she have drainage to this depth! I would request a Cobalt / Chroumin blood test as soon as possible as well as an MRI and additional blood test to rule out infection. There are failed implants out there. You might want to look yours up on the web to see if it is one. There are also class action suits in some cases and I’m sure it would be in your best interest to consult the law firm prior to additional surgery so that the failed implant can be retained in the event that you need it later as evidence. I cannot understand, seven moths out and you do not have an answer for the continuous drainage? Good luck! Remember, you are your best advocate for Your health!

@dannyandebbie

Excellent advice and I would say the same thing. Seven months is way too long after any surgery to still have a draining incision.

Thank you. I wish all the best for Roxanne.

Whew, your comment tore up my soul. I hesitate to tell you my horrendous hip replacement infection..that was noticed 2 werks sfter suture removal. Would take 2 hrs to even tell you my story, was 15 yrs ago😥, I'm now 75. No rt hip,no prosthetic. Did have a hip revisionist...finally! Leg 2" shorter causing entire body muscular/ skeletal issues. 2" lift on rt shoe. Blessed to be able to use a walker in the house, wheelchair outside of home. No $ ,but tried lawsuit. LOTS of story .Won't discuss here.. PLEASE SEE AN ORTHO revisionist immediately! Ive seen 1 ortho PA out here in Socal since moving here 7 yrs ago.He said in 40 yrs of practice,I was the 5th person..to have my situation😲😭

You need to see a doctor that’s for sure and irrefutable and be under a good doctors care. Infections if left unattended unattended or life-threatening. If you have any kind of temperature for more than a couple days, go to urgent care or the hospital for attention to the infection.

@annie14 you sound a lot like my wife and her experience! My wife had total bilateral. Black & Blue from head to toe; chipped tooth, broken toe, compressed nerve in left leg, fractured pelvis on right side, dropped in the shower during rehab, a total of 6 hip implants, doctor notes that never matched my wife, doctors covering for doctors, surgeons saying, “ this time I’ll do the surgery! What one hell of a ride in life for 12 years. Left with severe back issues that limit mobility, which increases body weight, which increases mobility issues and only 66 years old! We often listen to these specialists thinking they have us as their best interest…..is it the patient, record number of surgeries or financial?

Oh golly😭😐🥴😲🤔! I'm so sorry to hear her story! I was told that drs etc, are " taught" in school or by attorneys..to never say," oh I'm so sorry". Apparently, it could be construed as guilt ..in law suits.🤬 Sickening,right? I was a plus- sized lady, but working, living life,etc. Age 60 at 1st surgery. Of course now that I sit,lie 24/ 7.. I have become terribly deconditioned. Pt/OT come to my home about once a year..referred by my pain management dr. Blessedly, I can get through my rental home with my walker but after about 20-30 feet, I'm done. Can't use the shower stall,so use bath with shower attachment.. helper has to get legs over side of tub .. I'm on a shower chair. Wears us all out to do. We found a transport/ transfer wheelchair thats 22" seat width that my caregivers use to get me to dr appts. But..EVERY body has different needs and DME equipment is made like " one size fits all"! Really hard to get seat depth, back height, etc to fit. The foot rests can't be used in that lighter weight chair. Finding foot rests for a " regular 22 "or 24" width chair " with the big wheels is hard as they don't come with customized ft rests, lifting, etc. THOSE stinking drs..with all their money..have NO IDEA what our lives have become. Be nice if a check would magically appear.. out of kindness. Living alone but moved 2K miles to be near my only child,grands,etc. Thank goodness,25 yrs ago I bought a long- term care insurance policy, still paying premiums,and unlimited plan, but at least I get a caregiver parts of 3 days a week. Yes..a lot of " info" was NOT dissemenated to me or my fam. Thank God my sis is an RN and tried to talk to them all from 800 miles away. I hope you got some money from the place from hell's mistake! Prayers for just sooo much for you both. Peace!
