Excessive mucus.

Posted by @lynsu in Digestive Health, Aug 1, 2011

I have overly excessive mucus coming from where I'm not sure. I do know it is not my sinus or other head problems. It appears to be coming from my chest, lungs,or esophigus. I have seen many Drs and have not received any help. My problem is so bad that I. Wake up in the night chocking and gagging on it. Some times my pills that I take will come back with the mucus. I wonder how many of my pills are even being utilized. I just wonder if any one else has this problem. I hardly ever leave the house because of having to clear my throat almost all the time. It is a continual and very annoying. Any help out there? This is gross, but when eating, it comes up into the food in my throat while trying to swallow. I have to spit the food out. I have lost close to 55 lbs. Because of it. I am at a stage where I really can't afford to lose more weight The last time I weight, I was 102. Hope some one has some answers. Thanks

Mucus can be a symptom of an allergy. I too had this problem and it has gone away now that I am gluten-free. Try a gluten-free diet for about a month and you should know.

See a gastroenterologist. My Dad had this and he did not have a good outcome. Stop eating glueten and all dairy products, and God Bless You.
