Emphysema

Does anyone have Emphysema and get Pneumonia about every 3 months . I also have myasthenia gravis?

I have emphysema but have not ever gotten pneumonia- PTL.

I’m not sure but does your mg contribute to the pneumonia?

I have emphysema too. They say Ihave very severe COPD. I have had frequent bouts of pneumonia. Last was in October 2025. Does the MG make it more difficult to cough? I try to catch it as soon as possible and then do all the things to get rid of it. Still takes awhile to recover.

I have the same problem - COPD and Emphysema, and now even a favorite hospital room, I am so frequently there. The same rhythm - about every two to three months, I am down with pneumonia

I haven’t had pneumonia yet . I have been stage 4 Emphysema Since 2023. I do not leave my house except for Dr. appts. - eye clinic or dentist. I wear a mask when I am out . I have had a sinus cold and a bit of bronchitis. My husband goes out . He may bring those to me ? But I am comfortable . I have a lot of hobbies . I am in Michigan . Up far enough that we have lots of snow . It is too cold to go out . My hermit tendencies are making it easier . Bless all of you , Crystalena

Yes...I have COPD. I was in the hospital once in 2023 for 7 days, 3 in ICU. I take my disc breather and Albuterol breather in morning and night. I have not had "pneumonia" they say but I felt like I did. I go out all the time. I ride a bicycle in the warmer days to and from work. I'm a housekeeper so I deal with tons of soiled towels linens and anything else you can think of lol.
I'm fortunate in ways that I have not been sick since then but I do as of January have spiculated nodules on my lungs. I quit smoking in March 2023. But yeah I do whatever I want when I want because my pulmonologist said do whatever you can or want till you can't anymore. I am 54, 39 year smoker. I wish you success and comfort and hope you find your way ✌🏼

I have hemit tendencies but cannot fulfill that in my life at the time. Maybe one day. I would love to be "snowed in" ❤️
