I had the 2 moderna shots and my platelet count has continued to rise.
I had both Pfizer vaccines and my platelet count went up but I had to stop taking Hydrea two weeks before first shot, waited three weeks for the second shot and then went back on Hydrea two weeks after second shot. I wonder if stopping Hydrea for that length of time was the reason. Did anyone else stop Hydrea for any period of time
My daughter has JAK2 and the oncologist didn’t make any changes before she got the Pfizer vaccine
My mom has mutated JAK2 and was told not changes to her medication for the Moderna vaccines she had both doses with no side effects from it.
I had 2 Moderna vaccine shots lastly on March 20, 2021. My platelet count went from 1.2 to 1.4 million and I became concerned about stroke risks. My oncologist prescribed Hydroxyurea 1000 MG for 28 days and the platelet count went down to 600,000. The Moderna vaccine was not a good experience for my blood cancer as my strong immune system responded to invaders. The outcome remains to be seen. I am on 500 MG of Hydroxyurea until I see my oncologist in July.
No antibody response following Rituxan with having previously received Both Moderna vaccines
Rationale to receive J&J ?
This is a question for your physicians, as guidance on the issue is developing quickly.
Mixed eviews from local oncologist vs Mayo clinic & NIAID no one seems to know since immunocompromised patients not studied in clin ical trials for vaccine
I had both Moderna shots in March and April 2021. I did not stop taking my Hydrea 500mg at all. My platelets dropped just a little bit. (276,000 1/21 to 252,000 5/21) next to no change. I had no effects from the shots at all. Taking Hydrea for 3 years now. Stay Frosty!
Hi Bluegrass…..I am glad thay you are doing so well i wonder if maybe I should not have stopped the Hydrea,
as advised. It has been two months and my platlets are still high. My doctor has, again, increased my Hydrea to 10 pills a week instead of 6. Just had blood work yesterday so I hope there will be some improvement as I am feeling that heavy fatigue once again. Feedback very much welcome
