Doxil Chemo Treatments have turned my life upside down
On Friday, April I had my first treatment of Doxil and it has thrown me for a real loop. I have had no energy, sleep a lot and just feel miserable. Is this common with Doxil? I previously had 16 Taxol/carbo platen treatments and 6 Gemzar/Avastin which I stopped in Jan 2019 when scans indicated it wasn't working. During downtime I was evaluated for a trial at UCLA, but that didn't work out as I had developed two blood clots in my lungs. I started Eliquis for the Blood Clots on April 1, could this be a contributor? I will be seeing my Doctor on Friday, hopefully he can get me back on track.

Hi @pat417, I wanted to check in and see how you are doing? Doxil certainly can pack a punch and make you very fatigued. Have you had your second dose yet? Are you on a 2 or 4 week schedule?
My Doctor took me off Doxil, I became too weak after just the one treatment. He will be putting me on a parp inhibitor even though I don't have the BRAC mutation, This may be my last hope. My belly became so filled with fluid that they drained 4 liters off last Friday and the nurse could tell it was starting again today. She is asking the doctor for a standing order. Feeling like I'm getting close to the end, 125 jumped from 500 to 1100 on two weeks time.
@pat417 that must be a tough fact to face. You might be interested in joining this discussion:
