Does elevation severely affect emphysema?
Wanting to go to Yellowstone Park…motel elevation is 6000’…..stage 4 emphysema…currently in stable condition and not doing too bad….will be taking our Inogen 3 portable concentrator as well as our large home concentrator to have in motel room…….Never been at this elevation before…is this a bad idea? or?…has anyone with COPD had experience at this elevation??…… any input/ advice would be much appreciated….. thx!…. bobby

I was in Bozeman Montana. Similar elevation. I couldn’t breathe,
I live in south Jordan, Utah. Elevation at my home is 5000 ft. I cannot walk very much even with my portable oxygen. The oxygen just isn’t here.
I went to Paris and only used a walker so I could stop periodically, and no oxygen. With Copd, even with extra oxygen we can’t make it far. My lungs are my issue. Going uphill is also impossible even with oxygen. With oxygen I can only take on half my stairs at a time. I have to stop and breathe for awhile before I continue.
@jenicamom thanks for comment…. that helps… might not be a good place for me to visit… just afraid it may cause exacerbation….🙏
