Decision to make. Prolia vs Reclast
I had a full year of Evenity and my Dexa came up very well. Now I have to make the decision of Prolia vs Reclast. It's so much out there and doesn't know no one who went thru this. any suggestions are appreciated.

Can you not do a pill like Fosomax or Actonel?

2 ReactionsActually I'd talk it over with my doctor to see the pros and cons of each for me as an individual.

3 ReactionsWell she just gave me few prints about both products and I did a little research on my own in the Internet including in this one. Also I made an appointment for a se one opinion to see if clears up a little more. I just thought that maybe someone have the same issue as I have now and just want to see maybe something I haven’t see it yet in this process.
When I went to my first endocrinologist appointment I was totally unprepared. I just took the first thing she suggested (Reclast) without asking any questions. I'm trying HRT now but won't know if it's keeping my bones stable until I have my next DEXA scan in several months. I hope you see a doctor who will do all the necessary blood work and suggest a medication that makes sense for you as an individual.

5 ReactionsI don’t know your particular situation but why didn’t your doctor discuss this in the beginning? There are some new protocols and drugs in the works but usually, according to my doctor, it’s part of the plan depending on your results in stage one…

2 Reactions@jof53 Those are also the two my doc is recommending. Reclast is not recommended for people with kidney issues. Prolia is an injection every six months and the Reclast infusion is much longer between injections. I don't personally know anybody who has done the Reclast but I have a friend who has done Prolia, with no major side effects. Everyone is different, so we all react differently. I am facing the same issue and I'm having difficulty deciding as well.
@osteopatient2026 after Evenity my scores greatly. I’ll share soon
@ou14mejc Thanks God my kidneys are good so even if I decide to use Reclast I guess I’ll be in good shape with it. It’s a very hard decision to make.
I’m waiting on my 2nd opinion Dr and see what’s better for me. I do know that the Vit D and Calcium need to be very high and need to keep taking it for the Prolia. That’s what I read.
