Daily retching since bladder removal surgery
Due to cancer I had my bladder out in Nov 2022. Ever since I have had daily bouts of retching. That is all I can think to call it . It isn’t nausea. It isn’t vomiting . It is random. Can happen before eating or can happen when sitting watching TV. Doesn’t matter . It is every day. No nausea . My wishbone hurts some . No abdominal pain. No trouble swallowing . I can eat and it happen after 2 bites of food and no food comes up. It is very dramatic and loud and embarrassing . I can’t go out to eat for fear . I have lost 40 pounds because I am scared to eat sometimes. EGD has been negative. Have tried a PPI like Protonix . Nothing has worked. Doctors have no clue. CT of my belly has been negative . Help.

I’m just coming over to this group. This so much sounds like the issues I’m having and understand the problems you’re having, I’m an esophagus cancer survivor 18 months now and had surgery to remove thoracic surgery to remove my tumor and esophagus. My Surgeon was very adamant about removing my gall bladder during this surgery. I maintained my weight about a year after surgery but in Jan. another 20 lb weight loss, completely lost all my muscle and can’t gain weight back. Your symptoms are so close to mine and so hard to explain. My cancer team Dr.’s are always smaller portions more often and here’s another pill to swallow. I’m on PPI, Reglan, Suchrafate stool softener, anti depressants and sick and tired of pills that don’t even relieve the symptoms! No one has even talked about the gall bladder removal.
I know your symptoms and your suffering hopefully someone has a solution, I need it as well!!
Hoping someone can help here! I know the frustration and I hope you get to feeling better and find a solution soon!!
did have a GB scan that showed probably need out but just can’t right now and I am not sure that will fix the issue . Did you have your GB out?
I had an Transthoracic esophagectomy (Ivor Lewis) and my surgeon was adamant about GB removal if it showed any signs of irritation. It was removed during surgery.
I thought your GB was removed already. Sorry for the misunderstanding. but my symptoms are so much like yours !
They want to take mine out but just am not strong enough for another surgery . And I am not completely convinced it is my GB. You had your out and you still have this ? So taking GB out didn’t fix anything ?
My gall bladder was taken out in Dec 2022. My symptoms like yours didn’t occur until about a year after its removal. Your symptoms described are so much like mine, and haven’t found in any other posts. Honestly because of my cancer surgery I couldn’t say anything about my GB In complete confidence. I wasn’t experiencing any GB issues prior to diagnosis of cancer. So I can’t answer that question. After reading your post it gave me a since of hope my symptoms were related to GB or the removal of. Have you had any other studies or these symptoms treated any other way?
