Chronic Nausea/stomach pain for 2 years (No diagnosis)

Posted by @alyssaobrien in Digestive Health, Nov 8, 2011

I am a 21-year old woman living in Canada who has had chronic nausea and epigastric pain for the past two years. I also have CP and had a dorsal rizotomy when I was 3. I have been seen by various specialists from a neurologist, an endocrinologist, gastroenterologist, etc. and had scans, ultrasounds and numerous other tests to no avail. My doctors are trying to treat my symptoms; however, I still do not have a diagnosis. I am currently on Zofran for the nausea but even that is not helping much. I am also taking Domperidone, Pantaloc, and Atacand (for migraines). In the past 2 weeks, I have begun vomiting and I am perspiring profusely. Has anyone out there experienced anything similar? I am contemplating going to the Mayo Clinic as a last resort. Since this is a considerable expense and I am concerned about not getting any results, if anyone can share whether or not this was worthwhile for them, I would greatly appreciate your input.

My 18 year old daughter has had chronic vomiting and nausea for 4 years with no diagnosis either. I just made an appt. with the Mayo Clinic at the advice of the last doctor we saw. I just hope it will not be like all the other doctors saying it is mental which she has been evaluated by 3 psyc. doctors and passed with flying colors. I really hope this trip is worth it. It is very expensive we are traveling from Louisiana to Minnesota to try and get a diagnosis. She also has severe pain in her muscles, joints, bones. Hopefully we can get a diagnosis

Have you tried a gluten-free diet? Sometimes a lack of a diagnosis can be an allergy or sensitivity to food, pollen, dust mites.
