Chronic Lyme Disease and Co Infections

Hi everyone, I was recently diagnosed with Lyme Disease. A functional medicine doctor looked at a test I had in 2023 and said they view my results as positive, because of the specific markers that were present. After that test in 2023, I was given a short course of antibiotics, but it didn't help my symptoms, so the doctor said that I didn't have Lyme (very aggravating). I have had symptoms for about 14 years and other than that short dose of antibiotics, it has been untreated.

So far, I have started a supplement for Bartonella because the functional doctor thinks I have that too. Have other people experienced not getting diagnosed until many years later? Has anything helped you guys? I'm 30 and am hoping that being relatively young is on my side, but I am very worried. I deal with nerve pain, numbness, headaches, and the list could go on.

My young cousin had Lyme, babesiosis, and another insidious disease from ticks that went undiagnosed for years. She finally got help from a doctor who specializes in tick borne diseases. His wife suffered from debilitating effects and so he had a vested interest in a cure. She was unable to get help from any other doctor or hospital. She is now free of most symptoms and is certainly thriving compared to before when she was hospitalized with joint pain, vagus nerve disorders, and other chronic conditions. I found this article which may be of some help to you. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
