Cholesterol Warning (as if we didn't have enough to worry about)
When I was diagnosed and put on meds, I went all-out on dairy. I was trying so hard! A year later, my cholesterol levels had shot way up after never having even a hint of a problem.
I went to fat-free or low-fat dairy for everything and steered away from cheese, and I'm back to normal.
Last time I went overboard on dairy was when I was nursing my first child 35 years ago. My poor baby turned out to be allergic to dairy and spent her early infancy covered with horrible infected rashes before they figured out the problem. I should have learned.

Same!! I really uped my cheese consumption and now I am on a low dose statin. I will see if I can get it back down asap with diet & exercise, too.

1 ReactionHas anyone taken the prolio shot for osteoporosis ?
I did the same thing, went all in on dairy…also protein…to help bones—only to discover I was stressing my kidneys…had to modify diet, as kidney issues are no small thing…trying to get more protein from plant foods and tofu, in addition to a diet with mostly veggies and fruits…will check blood tests soon and review with docs…it’s challenging to balance the needs of our bones and kidneys and other body systems…trial and error with docs helping to evaluate.

5 Reactions@ann78 There are many threads about Prolia that you can search for. This thread has nothing to do with Prolia shots. You'll get a lot more information if you use the search bar.
