Checked out mentally: Do you ever feel disconnected as you give care?
Do you have days when you feel disconnected and flat as a caregiver for loved one with dementia ? I feel like an irritated robot.
How I miss my life. My “acceptance” mantra is failing today.
Just venting.

I think we all have days like that.
My wife has been endlessly patient since my stroke, focusing on being glad that I'm okay cognitively. But I know there are days when she just needs a break.
From my YouTube channel, I get comments about how positive and upbeat I am. Yeah, well, not always! I get plenty cranky and surly, like a rabid porcupine.
We're all human. That's not a bad thing.

10 ReactionsYes, I do feel like I am not me, just going through the motions. That's when I look for something to do that fills my cup back up (for me, baking).

For me it’s the treadmill in the garage and an audiobook.

8 Reactions@tracidw yes I’m trying to focus on gratitude and acceptance but sometimes I just feel angry and really depressed and like my life is over. This too shall pass.

5 ReactionsIn this winter weather I walk in the garage with my earbuds tuned to 60's and 70's music. There is much singing along and dancing involved as no one can see me!
