Celiac Artery Aneurysm: Anyone else with same illness?
Hello! I was recently diagnosis with a celiac artery aneurysm in June 2016. I underwent a embolization w/ coils procedure since the aneurysm had grown while in the hospital. I was trying to reach out to someone who suffered the same illness but have not been lucky. I would like to locate someone with my same illness. I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Hello. I was diagnosed after going in with a chest pain that I was pretty sure was not cardiac. They did a Ct scan and found this as well as an issue on the mesenteric artery. This was almost two years ago. I am still on a wait and see. The last test showed no changes and my doctor says he will recheck in two years. He must feel confident. It still worries me they have me on statins and asa as time goes on I am not feeling so nervous as I was I wish everyone well.
What is the size of your aneurysm?
Not sure whom you are asking. My CCA is 1.4 cm.

Dennis if you have 2.4 cm Celiac artery aneurysm, you need to get that fixed. According to the AMA paper I read this morning, anything over 2 cm should be fixed.

Thanks for sending the article. I misstated as mine is 1.5 CM. just slightly larger than yours. I just had a CTA last week and my doctor felt that there was nothing to be concerned about as it has barely grown since it was discovered six years ago. He felt that another contrast scan in three years would be sufficient with a non contrast scan in a year.

Oh good. Same here. Mine was discovered two years ago after a bicycle accident. New doctor recently. He does ultrasound. Less radiation, every six months. Mine has grown from 1.2 to 1.4 in a year. So I guess he wants to watch it. Good luck and live life! ✌️.

Thanks for the information. My doctor mentioned the radiation issue as a reason not to have contrast scans and suggested doing non contrast scans but he didn't mention using ultrasound but it makes sense.

aneurysm. Usually aneurysms are ot removed until they are 2mm or greater.
somehow the first part of my reply disappeared. I ave Factor V Leiden which is a gene mutation. the Effect is that my body makes blood clots too easily. My celiac is very compressed and I may have MALS but the radiologists were hesitant to interpret it as MALS. My renal artery is narrowed, as well as my lower illiac and my femoral artery was full of clots, but I now have two stents placed in the femoral. I am on Xarelto 20 mgs and oh Plavix and will be for the rest of my life, The celiac compression gives me only mild discomfort. Beyond the compression is a small 9mm aneurysm.
I am sorry that you are having to deal with all of this bad news, Susan Thanks for the celiac info.
