Does CBD oil help you with your depression and/or anxiety?

Posted by lalyfa @lalyfa, Feb 24, 2018

I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I've been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA

Thank you,
Laura

Dear lalyfa,
I have tried CBD gummies (from a safe, good, and known store in San Antonio). The reason for me to try them was the suggestion from a very good friend who knew I was going through a period with very little sleep. "My dad slept as a baby after using this one". I buy the exact same one. Now I am looking forward to finally getting to sleep. But no! I have never used drugs in my life, but this experience (my first and surely my last one) is the closest I suppose I can come to having used one! Or, also, I could say that it was maybe the same reaction as if I had been terribly sick because of alcohol. I see double, literally, and I feel terrible. So, no, I would NEVER use CBD gummies again. But her father was- and is still using the same ones with success. So, I think, this experience one more time proves that we human beings are different, and that we react differently to the exact same medicines and/or remedies.

I live in California where Marijuana is legal. The brand I use is called CBD Living Water. You may need a Marijuana prescription depending on the state you live in. You can Google the brand name and find out about it.

I buy water from a company called CBD Life Water. Depending on the state you live in, you could need a prescription for marijuana. You can look up the brand name on Google to learn more.

@gailb, where did you purchase the CBD. I also have been curious about the product, but there are lots of sellers on Amazon, but I hate to purchase a supplement that I don't know anything about the seller. Most of them you can find some pretty good lists of sellers that have good reputations. If you could give a brand name that you used and liked, I would appreciate it. If that is something that needs to be a PM, that will be fine. Thank you, Gary

I like Hennepen's CBD capsules. Help moderate anxiety and depression. I take two every day. It enhances the effect of my antidepressant, Sertraline. Also, L-theanine (4 capsules) is great against both anxiety and depression.

this is exactly the reason I want to look into the CBD. I don't want to go through these withdrawal symptoms again! If I find myself needing to return to the meds, I will taper off much more slowly when the time comes.

CBD "takes the edge off " for me and is quite useful. You might want to look into small doses of THC if legal in your state. THC is legal in Maryland under medical supervision.

I've been using CBD for over four years now and don't believe it to be addictive. With THC, I'm not sure. Side effects are minimal if used in small doses.

I was trying CBG tincture, which significantly lifted my mood for the first two days, but this did not last. I also have a THC + CBG for an after-noon lift but with the same results for a few days. I've been sober for 31 years and very sensitive to over-the-counter meds, and the THC made me feel a little wonky. I was trying to stay off of antidepressants, but I need something that will last longer to pull me out of this funk.

Try HEMP
CBD caps for daytime. No THC, if you get Good quality CBD you could reap the benefits. I have chronic everything. Have been using medical marijuana for about 3 years but then decided that CBD from hemp was perfect for me. I had a serious accident right at the start of Covid. In bed for 3 months. I had to wait for surgeon to come back from vacation so was put on Ativan, along with Advil and Tylenol for pain,as I refused opioids. At home used the Ativan to help with sleep but started CBD & THC for pain. Didn’t take any opioids entire recovery, even rehab. I do have strong willpower,so that helped.
Do some research and see if this will help your specific issues.I used CBD to withdraw for Lexapro from 20 mg to 5 mg. My shrink thinks I can go off completely but I’m anxious about doing that, go figure

I take CBD 100 mg in AM and maybe a 30 mg gummy in afternoon
CBN at night for sleep, I sleep like a baby, thank God
These doses might seem very high but you can take up to 600mg safely of Hemp CBD, Hemp derived CBN what you need for sleep and thenHemp derived THC 15-50mg but stick with lowest dose.
Hope this could give someone hope. Research Hemp
