burning mouth syndrome

I would like to know more how people have been treated with burning mouth syndrome. Have you get any help for your condition? I would be very pleased if you could answer.

Hi Kata, I'm being treated for this condition at the moment with Alpha Lipoic Acid which is a supplement not a drug. I've only been on it for one week so don't know if it will help yet, but fingers crossed. If that doesn't help, my doctor has prescribed Clonazepam 0.5mg tabs which I will suck before going to sleep. I am a 54yrs old, menopausal femaie and am apparently a perfect candidate for this condition as I also have a very high stress life in term of work and personal committments. These all come together to make me highly likely to get burning mouth syndrome...who knew! I've had it for about three years now.

Hello! Thanks for your answer! I am not a menopausal female, all this hell started with one special dentist who started to heal my teeth against my will. And after that continues all possible treatments by her, partly very painful and during this terrible time this burning system started. I have had normal mouth and teeth during my whole life, nothing special treatments I have never needed for my teeth! And this idiotic doctor started to heel my teeth when I insested many times that I need just a teeth rack, because I have bruksism. I have that Clonatzepam also and Lyrica. The dentist who started that hell, is just trying to ignore the whole thing as well as that finnish dentist company ORAL with his medical manager!!! It is unbeliavable!!!! This whole burning thing is something that I just cant understand!! I will just get a good lawyer and will take this whole process to the court. The justise must happen and this terrible doctor has to get to know her limits how she can treat people!!!

Hi CatH
I have had BMS since May 2013. I also got mine from a dentist who threw me into a 6 month cycle, and counting of malocclusion and teeth sanding when he put a cap on a tooth. The irritation I had in my mouth for four months on my tongue and the roof months from using my tongue to keep my teeth apart led to the BMS. The irritation is now gone, but the pain from BMS continues. Did you ever have success locating an attorney? Is there anyone else out there with a similar case?
