Breast Cancer heridetary

Posted by @halo1916, Oct 11, 2011

I lost my grandmother and mother to breast cancer. I have 2 sisters that have had to have bilateral mastectomys. I am worried about my chances and my neices chances of getting it as well. I spoke with a lady today that had the brac test it came back neg but she still got cancer and had to have mastectomy. both my mother and sister were diagnosisesd in their 40’s. What can we do to pretect our future females from this?

I have a LONG history of breast cancer. Preventative double masectomy is a good idea. You should speak with a genetisis and talk about being high risk. The BRACA test is def not full proof either way. Many people I know were negative for the gene but positive for breast cancer :/
