Bevespi areosphere inhaler
Has anyone ever had any experience with this inhaler. My Pulmonologist at Mayo Jax, took me off the Annoro Elipta I had been using for about 3 years, as I had found that its effectiveness had dropped. I know this is a LABA, and seems to work quite well after only being on it for only 2 days. It’s a maintenance inhaler of course, and I take 2 puffs 2x daily (morning & evening). Any feedback & experience welcome. Thank-you.

as an NTM MAC patient (discovered in 4/25). So I have been on the three drug regimen for the past 14 months and had one conversion which was subsequently reversed. I have recently switched from Breztri to Bevesti. While Breztri had been working well for over 5 years to control my COPD, the steroid component in it was worrisome to my pulmonologist as MAC finds Breztri's steroid component supportive of bacterial infection. Thus perhaps encouraging disease continuity. From the very beginning Bevesti has introduced breathlessness into my system. I will report this to my pulmonologist this week and see if there is a way to circumvent this issue. Has anyone else had this issue with Bevesti?
I was switched from breztri ( with a steroid) to double action Bevespi in January. I use it twice a day two pufffs and except drying me it’s fine, however I think the change and stopping the inhaler without a steroid caused increase in my lung inflamation , significantly to the point that during my last visit to NJH it was decided I have asthma and was prescribed Dupixent . I took the second dose yesterday. So wrapping up- Bevespi does not cause side effects except drying me inside. I was told however that if Dupixent works Bevespi might be stopped- but that decision will come in 5 months. So don’t be afraid of Bevespi but ask your doctor about the level of your inflamation( blood test) and how Bevespi will affect it
@lilianna Hi everyone, I too am on Bevespi and have been since January of 2025. Before that I was on Annoro, which worked well for the first 2 yrs, then it seemed to lose its effectiveness. The Annoro was prescribed by my Pulmonologist at UVM (Vermont) in 2022. I made a trip to Mayo Jax in January 2025, and told them that the Annoro has seemed to have lost its effectiveness, so the Pulmonologist prescribed Bevespi, 2 puffs twice daily. Now again for the first 18 months or so it worked well, then as the Annoro, the Bevespi seemed to lose its effectiveness. I have mentioned this to my UVM and Mayo Pulmonologists and the only response I got from the Mayo Pulmonologist was “that’s the best we have”. From the UVM Pulmonologist “that usually works pretty good for people”. It’s sooo frustrating. I kno it’s a LABA and LAMA, and supposed to last 12 hrs, but every day I find myself needing and using my Levalbuteral within 6 - 7 hrs. I’ve even called Astra Zeneca, and all they did was read me the patient information leaflet that comes in every medication. Which is from the pharmaceutical company. The only conclusion I can come to is as my BE and PF progress some not all of these medications lose their effectiveness. Especially the long acting ones. Because my Levalbuteral still works well for me. I know the idea is to try to not prescribe steroids which Breztri is, but I wouldn’t mind trying it. Anyway that’s my story with Bevespi and I truly welcome any suggestions and comments anyone may have. I will add that I still do use it as prescribed, and after the two puffs it does make me SOB for about 30 Mins. But then that goes away, and my O2 sats usually are in the mid 90’s
@spider109 I am not a doctor but if you are short of breath or have heavy chest like I had, may be you should have a pulmonary function test and check for esoenophilic asthma. It looks Bevespi is not enough for you - ask these questions and drill for the answers. I was on symbicort then on breztri until they were all taken away and replaced with only Bevespi which apparently was not enough for me. Now I am still taking Bevespi plus started Dupixent because over the period of 6 months my asthma is obvious on tests.
I would like to know from anyone who uses a LABA (bronchodilator) AFTER their airway clearance, how long do you wait before you take the doses of your LABA? Mine is the Bevespi, And I have never received a straight answer from anyone including medical professionals. Some say 5 minutes, some have said 30-40mins others 1-2 hours. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank-you all.
