Before college (a year ago), I was seeing an OBGYN. She diagnosed me with polycystic ovary syndrome. She also suspected that I might have lupus or RA. Before I could see a rheumatologist, I lost my health insurance and have not been back since. What can I do? What will I gain if I do see a specialist?

I was just diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome too. A year or so ago my docs thought I had either lupus or RA but it turned out to Fibromyalgia.
What you'll get is a lot of debt! Some places will write you off on their taxes if you "self-pay" and then go to their billing department and explain your situation. But you'll need to make an appointment and plan your entire day around it, And when you do go to the doc, let them know you don't have insurance and to please do all testing and everything in one day or two consecutive days. Good luck honey!
