My husband has been diagnosed with squamas cell base of the tongue cancer which is metatastic and moved to a lymph node. We are having treatment at UCSF and have decided on robotic surgery with radiation. Has anyone gone through this? What is the recovery like? His tumor/lesion s approximately 2cm

If I'm not mistaken, that is the same form of cancer that took the life of fried chicken and restaurant magnate Al Copeland (founder of Popeye's, Copeland's and numerous other now famous chains).

Given how much money that man had amassed in his life, if he couldn't buy a cure, your husband may have quite a steep hill to climb in order to beat it. Then again, I'm not privy to whatever new developments in terms of treatment for this form of cancer have come to market since the passing of Mr. Copeland, so please don't lose any hope based on anything I've said.

Treatment options are getting better and more effective with each day that passes. I wish you and your husband the best and will pray that he experiences a prompt, full and relatively pain-free recovery.
