I have osteoporosis and issues with anemia however never associated either with my sleeve procedure.
I currently have an insufficiency fracture in my right knee. In May I stumbled into a toy on the floor shopping. Fell with my left knee taking the brunt of the impact. Surprise surprise I fractured left knee patella. LOL

Welcome to Mayo Connect. I had my bariatric surgery about 14 years ago and have had problems with low iron. I get my ferritin checked at least once a year, and the providers order iron infusions if it drops too low. It is odd, sometimes I can go years with no problems, and then it will drop. If I paid close attention, it may be because I was not taking in enough protein.
Originally, they recommended Vitron-C or similar iron pills, but any multi-vitamins with iron or iron supplements bother my stomach.
I am 70, and just had a bone density scan and have osteopenia, which I have had for years. Not sure if related to surgery, cancer treatment 6 years ago, or just getting older. At this point, they are not treating the osteopenia.
What are your providers doing to treat your bone loss and anemia issues?
