asthma and chronic bronchitis
i can’t stop coughing and it keeps me up at night. i feel so helpless. the medicine is expensive and i hate buying it and then it not help or work. is there any relief. i had whooping cough as a child and then pneumonia, etc. all my life. now at 60 i wonder if it is worth anything anymore.

I seem to be improved somewhat this morning, having a more productive cough which has helped with the breathing, my bronchial tubes were just to stopped up and swollen not letting enough air pass thru. As for getting old, yes I am a 63yr old and I have had 20 surgeries since the age of 10. My last one was to fix my left kidney that had partially died from a blockage, in surgery 11 hours, now have 1/2 kidney on left, working like a charm tho…didn’t realize there was anything wrong with it, just knew i was sick all the time, gained over 50lbs (not from eating 🙂 ( PS: kept complaining to the Doctor about gaining so much weight,and that I felt something was wrong, his comment “just stop eating so much” ) , legs swelling,red , achy, headaches anyway became violently ill , my daughter rushed me to hospital, ended up at Wake Forest Hospital…I told my mother I must have been behind the door when the Good Lord gave out parts, because I got all used ones ….lol Have a wonderful day. wow. the luck of the irish cause i’ve had a few surgeries myself. but the most bad was the whooping cough at 3 yrs. bob apparently that started all this. the cough is better today and so maybe this too shall pass? good luck and god bless 🙂
Hope you are starting to feel better this morning, I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel, my constant coughing is subsiding, Thank Goodness 🙂 I had viral pneumonia at age 5 in hospital 1 1/2 months, I look the picture of health, looks can be deceiving tho, I guess the Good Lord has allowed me to go through all this so I could maybe help someone else to know they too can survive no matter what comes their way. i always say a prayer for anyone who is going through this same thing. it is torture for cough in front of people and see them back away and think i am going to give them something. then watch some young person light up a cigarette and laugh at me because i caution them! will anyone learn and listen to some wisdom?? 40 yrs. and finally saw the light but too late for me. hope you continue to do well and bless your son and keep him safe from harm and to come home safely.
Thank you for your prayers. I am still coughing a little, woke up this a.m. 4:00 wheezing had to do the neb treatment to be able to breath. I too smoked for 12 years, quit 2 years ago. Went back to Doc regarding lab results, he was checking me for RA, well wouldn’t you know it , I have GOUT, who ever heard such. I thought GOUT was a mans disease 🙂 Oh well, my Uric Acid was rather high… now I have to take Alipurinol twice a day, more money out the window … It is 26 degrees here and some wet snow on the ground…brrrrr Do have a great day.
well if u are taking a steroid derivative drug for asthma it is predicted that chronic bronchitis will developed even more since the steroid are immune suppressor as side effect so keep away from irritant material for a while go to some place worm and with clear air maybe the country side and there try to treat the bronchitis and about the drug keep on using it for the whole period that ur docter advised u with …hope u the best
brand new to bronchitis / asthma, ths started 1 yr ago, cough really went away. my dr isn’t sure which or both. female, 63, in very good health otherwise. have appt with pulminary in 2 weeks. right now on 2nd round of steriod zpack and dulera. have insomnia so sleep is hard enuf, now it’s near impossible.
QUESTION: is it ez to tell viral from bacterial bronc? WHAT ABOUT natural remedies? any suggestions. ALSO, i have no insurance.
