Are heavy nose bleed normal during allergies?
Hello! I had very heavy nose bleeds two days in a row as soon as I wake up it drenched napkins right away and last more than 30 mins. I went to the ER and the doctor and they told me it’s just my allergies because my nose is it extremely swollen and irritated.i also have extremely big multiple blood clots. They didn’t do any blood tests or do any procedures. I also been running a low grade fever. However I use afrin and Vaseline and it still takes a while to stop the bleeding. I got an appointment with the ENT soon but what should I do to stop these nosebleeds ?

@npedr2, Hey there. I am sorry you are battling this.
Are you using Flonase as it can cause nosebleeds? Also, I found Astepro nasal spray can cause a bloody discharge that mimics a sinus infection, so I stopped using it.
Try a cool mist humidifer in your bedroom. Ayr saline moisturing spray may help too.
Have they tried cauterizing your nose for the nosebleeds? This can help.
Do you think you have a sinus infection with this? Sometimes you can run a fever with a sinus infection.
Praying for you as this has to be miserable. Blessings...

2 Reactions@covidstinks2023 hey and thank you for the prayers 😭 I don’t use nasal sprays. Allergies kind of hit all of the sudden. I’ll try your tips ! But the ER didn’t want to cauterize my nosebleeds and they told me I don’t have a sinus infection but who knows 😭
@npedr2 YRW. Are you on a blood thinner by chance? Blessings & Prayers....
@covidstinks2023 no! I’m only on propranolol to help manage my POTS.
How awful for you to have these nose bleeds! I'm glad you have an appointment to see a doctor. I've had nose bleeds and it's because I have a chronic nose sore. The doctor gave me a prescription for Mupirocin and it works great! Until I got that I put a lot of Neosporin in my nose when it was bleeding. It did stop it. You can get Neosporin over the counter. However the Mupirocin works better.
I hope things work out for you. I'll say a prayer for you.

@covidstinks2023
I used to suffer horribly every year from pine tree and grass pollen. I now take 200 mg of CoQ10 every other day starting BEFORE allergy season. It takes a few days to kick in. For the last few years, I have had almost NO allergy symptoms - what a relief! I polish off the CoQ10 with my regular antihistamine when I think I might need an extra boost. Find the CoQ10 dose that works best for you.... Good luck!
@plenum Thank you for this. May I ask what brand of CoQ10 you use? This has been a very
hard spring and summer is just beginning.
Blessings & Prayers......
@covidstinks2023 Hi! Over the years I've used California Gold Nutrition, which was fine, but most lately, Dr's Best for the 200mg gelcaps every other day. Both came from iHerb. (Shipping is quick.)
@plenum Thank you so much. Have a blessed day! Prayerfully.....
