Anyone loose weight while on Orgovyx?
I am 77 and after 11 months of taking Orgovyx I have experienced about a 5 lb weight loss. Have gained a little belly fat but I fear my muscle loss continues even with 3 day a week resistance training. Any one else experience this? My Oncologist and Hematologist concurred with my desire to terminate ADT treatment after 12 of the prescribed 18 months due to life style concerns.

Didn't lose weight. Didn't gain much either, but... every single ounce of fat relocated to my belly and boobs. (think Buddha)

1 ReactionSame here...losing muscle, gaining fat....have a nice A cup on the left side and a small tire that jiggles when I walk....lol. Have to further correct the diet and do more crunches I guess....still weigh the same but my skin does not fit right....its like a baggy suit. At 72 I am working as hard as I can in my woods but I def feel the difference after 7 months of ADT. Cant imagine what I am going to look like/feel like in the future. I think my twisted sense of humor will become more useful as time goes on....I know all my ex's would laugh at my no testosterone status....as well they should!

1 ReactionGained 10 lbs. Some water weight due to edema (where did that come from?). Also, belly bulge.
I actually had a period of time where I lost about 7 pounds and could not gain it back. I’ve been on ADT for nine years and that happened after about six years. That lasted about six months. I now have to watch what I eat or I gain weight.
Yes, but not intentionally the first time. In hospital, I had a post-surgery ileus, and lost 40lb during my first couple of months on ADT (Firmagon at the time, but also a GnRH antagonist like Orgovyx) simply because I couldn't eat even 800 calories most days.
The second time was deliberate. I lost 20 lb over about 6 months, but it was through restriction dieting, which — as I know now — is almost never sustainable, even when someone isn't dealing with testosterone deprivation.
My goal now is ignoring calories, staying active, eating healthy, and controlling blood-sugar spikes: for example, if I'm eating something that breaks down to glucose quickly, like white bread, quick-cook oats, fruit juice, etc. I make sure I combine it with some protein and fats to smooth out the glucogen curve, because it's the blood-sugar spikes and then insulin (over)reactions that cause cravings and overeating. Even a little refined sugar is OK, as long as it's combined with slower-releasing fats and proteins to even things out. The main indicator I'm watching isn't weight but HbA1C, which shows the long-term trend in my blood-sugar peaks and valleys (while keeping an eye on cholesterol as well, of course).

1 ReactionThanks for your responses. Today, after finishing radiation in March, I stop taking Orgovyx after almost 12 months and being a gleason 7, 3+4, and having an extracapsular condition. I will be focussed on future blood tests.
I started with Orgovyx and Nubeqa last November. At that time I weighed 230, appropriate for me at 6'5".
Within 3 months I went up to 250 and have steadied out at that weight. My appetite is healthy and since I'm not gaining any more weight. However, the waistband of my pants is tighter.
Yes. I did not expect to lose weight while on orgovyx but did. I was treated with SBRT (I have cribriform 3+4 in two of the 6 tumors) and 120 days of orgovyx. Age 63 and about 140 lbs (5'8" small frame, very active).... and lost almost 20 lbs over 6 months. I was 123 lbs 30 days after the SBRT and 60 days into orgovyx. I am 7 months post treatment and back to about 132 lbs. I never have much of an appetite and during treatment zero appetite. The doctors were not concerned at all and neither was I. I did hike/ski a lot (winter) which helped the side effects (fatigue mainly). I feel great now and have no meaningful side effects.
