I have been on many many medication‘s for my RA and not one of them is helping me. I have had this problem for many many years with most of my medication‘s doesn’t matter if it’s a painkiller whatever it is my body says nope not gonna help you so any information that you can give me I would appreciate it so very much I know my situation is not the norm so any help I would certainly certainly appreciate it thank you very much!

RA,
I am not on RA meds but I have a lot of problems with meds.
Side effects are bad. Some of the meds work slowly so when problems develop they don’t look at the drug it is fine is what I have been told many times. Then there are the control meds a person has to go off slowly.
Read the papers that come with your meds about side effects. Meds I see on TV scares a lot are new drugs. Check the company MSDS material safety data sheets.
Good luck.

It would be helpful if you could provide a list of the RA medication you have been on, for how long, and the side effects. Also, your symptoms.

To be honest with you they were so many and I have no idea how long I was on them all I know is they all did not work for me at all nothing at all work for me because my body says no no no no to any of these medication‘s. from reading the comments from many many many people it looks like most people have no trouble at all of the medication‘s that I had many problems with it’s just that my body is not like other people‘s body and I’m like wow this one did super Duper honest medication not me so the bottom line is you know what I was a learned each of us is so different bodies are different and we just have to work around her own bodies and figure out what works for us I wish you the very best luck going forward!!!

Many of the RA meds are contraindicated for me. I’m lucky in that low dose Prednisone works.

I completely understand.
I get a prednisone injection every 3-4 months. It has been helping me.
I have been on every infusion out there with no luck.
I take Hydroxychloroquin 200 mg still. I've asked my RA Dr. if I could stop it. She said I could, but didn't feel it's causing the problem. Something has ruined my skin. My arms, legs and back are a mess. I have red, itchy, scaly, raised areas all over my body etc. My Dr. doesn't think it's the Hydroxychloroquin.
I was also diagnosed with Grover's Disease on my lower back and sides.
I get Reclast infusions yearly for my osteoporosis.
My derm doesn't think any of these areas are a big deal, to a female it's huge.
I'm at a loss. I don't know what to do.
Side note, I had a colon resection 6 years ago. I can't keep weight on at all, but that's another story.
I just want to get answers to. I don't know where to turn.

My daughter, who can't take most drugs, for many reasons, has RA as one of her problems Also lupus, and Crones. The drug, Otezla really attacked all. the joint pain, and other things. For her, because she has Crones and because a side effect can be diarrhea she had to stop taking it, but I must say she was at her best on that drug. Now we are searching for a drug for her and that is why I am on this. I am the healthy one, it's my daughter that has had this stuff all of her adult life. So if anyone has all of the diseases above or knows anyone like this please let me know

@lindaadele I was on methotextrate for 20 years and it worked great for me except for the last year and a half I've been having flares. So the rheumatologist just prescribed me Rinvoq. Just started it 7 days ago so I'm not sure if it works so far my joints are feeling better not gone but better

Hi I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 20 years the flares are really called set backs, its because your microbiom is off you need more good microbiom build up in your small intestines. You need to eat more things like leeks, garlic, asparagus, kiefer like sauerkraut I make my own at home very easy. Pre and probiotics are in it. I cant have almond milk so I buy online cocnut milk kiefer it's delicious and you only need to drink 4oz a day on an empty stomach. You really need to change your diet to plant based eat more salmon, tuna, sardines, spinach, kale, bok choy baby or regular. Have you ever heard of the paddison program clint paddison has an amazing online forum.that can help.you so you won't have to take 2 meds at least. All these doctors do is give you more drugs. I was on rinvoq it put 50lbs on me an made my total cholesterol 300 it raises lipid panels and makes you gain alot of wieght which I think is really abd for your body also but I know when your in pain you do anything but at least maybe if you try the diet you can just stay on the DMard methotrexate are you on pills or injection ? The injection works alot better. Anyway I hope this helps a little. Look up the paddison program. In the mean time let's hope the setpoint vagus nerve also comes to pur states which would really help people who cant take certain medicines.
