Anyone have ongoing pain from scarring and adhesions?

Posted by pickleballbob @pickleballbob, Mar 14, 2022

I have Stage 2 COPD and have had two bouts of pneumonia. I have pain when I take a deep breath, cough or sneeze. The pain is momentary on each lower side of my rib cage. My pulmonologist says the pain is from the damage done by the pneumonia, which produced scars and adhesions. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hello Bob- Is it possible that the scarring is from having COVID too? Pneumonia can cause pain, absolutely. Has he given you any help in relief from the pain? Have you had recent scans that show this?

Merry,
I did have covid at the beginning of 2020. Two bouts of pneumonia followed a year later. I had no residual pain after recovering from covid. The pain of the active pneumonia diminished some, but never completely resolved. The second pneumonia has made the pain worse.
I was wondering if others with COPD and episodes of pneumonia have similar ongoing pain?
