Anyone have 100% PTEN loss
Genetic/dna PTEN loss creates “open door” for recurring cancer. New research shows use of capivasertib plus abiraterone and prednisone “closes” that door. My recent CARIS lab report shows 100% PTEN loss. I have just started a “holiday” from Orgovyx/Nubeqa after two years undetectable PSA/ Testosterone, clear scans etc. I am Gleason 9 after prostatectomy 2024. What to do? Cut holiday “short”? Restart ADT with Capivas. Etc? Anyone have similar situation/dilema?

6 ReactionsIf I were in your situation, I would wanna have PSA tests every month for at least six months to make sure that your PTEN issue doesn’t cause a quick reoccurrence. You can have that new treatment if it comes back, Or maybe even sooner. Something to discuss with an oncologist that specializes in prostate cancer.

2 ReactionsThanks Jeff,
Great advice. I have an oncologist appointment in two weeks and will ask for monthly PSA testing. Now scheduled for every 3 months, but that was prior to CARIS findings re. PTEN. Don’t need added anxiety of waiting more than a month at a time. Thanks so much. Appreciate your input!
