Anyone experiencing liver of the Bile ducts?
I just noticed your post, and I’m not sure what you are asking.
I hope things are going okay for you.
Hi Rosemary. Just returned from a trip to mayo and have developed pre cancer (low dysphasia ,one of there main bile ducts they can’t open and that bothers the docs and they want me to have my gall bladder removed. So just more complexities.. I wasn’t planning on the colon being an issue. I gave read about people getting cancer of the bile ducts(the main ducts) vs attached organs. Hope all is well with you. Rod
Rod, It sounds like you have had a busy trip to mayo. The doctors there are really on top of things and it appears that they are being proactive in your treatment. Are you going to be listed for a transplant? I think I read that you were expecting that to happen in the fall….Did you know that they don’t transplant the gall bladder, so after transplant, you won’t hane one anyway? I did not know that – and when I was reading my medical summary, I was surprised to read that!
All along my docs were afraid that cancer would settle in my bile ducts, so that was closely watched. In fact when my docs here were not able to get into my bile ducts for a tissue sample for biopsy, that is when they sent me to mayo.
I am doing absolutely great! Thanks for asking. I hope that you will be able to experience good health soon!
Rosemary thx. THey are pushing me more on removing some of my colon now due to dmild dyplasia and maybe the gall bladder at the same time. They think tire gall bladder removal remove some worse nausea and tired periods I go thru. I waver sometimes on sticking with the speed of the the docs wanting to do things vs. are they rushing too much at the first signs of trouble. Did they ever get your ducts that were blocked, that you referenced above, thru ERCP? Rod
It sounds like it is getting more complex for you. And it is beginning to sound like your PSC is beginning take a different path than mine did.
You asked about my blockage/ERCP. They (UK) put a stent in one of the main branches to see if they could reduce my high bilirubin count when I had a flair up of inflamation, high bilirubin, fever. It was only in for a few weeks because it either slipped or was not working. I don’t remember.
The other ERCP/blockage was when they were trying to get way deep into the far ends of my biliary tree to get a tissue sample for a cancer biopsy. That was not for improving drainage.
I hope that you and your doctors are able to make the decision that is best for your health.
