Anyone dealing with anorgasmia (orgasmic dysfunction)?

Posted by folmajt @folmajt, Dec 16, 2025

I have been faithfully following this support group since PC diagnosis in July 2025. Had RARP Oct 9, 2025. Followed recovery plan to the letter. Feel fine. Mostly continent, leak a little a bit from time to time. Typically wear a pad if out at night socially and alcohol involved; mostly satisfied with that progress. Erections are fine and firm enough for penetration. But then nothing, zero orgasm. Dr Google say anorgasmia. Which I have never ever heard of (on this forum or anywhere else). I did get low dose cialis, thinking that might help but that hasn't seemed to affect anything. Follow up with urologist still a month away. Since I've not seen any dialog on the subject... just wondering and puzzled.

Are you taking any drugs for mood regulation?

Don’t mention taking any ADT drugs or anything else after the surgery. Are you taking anything like that?

@jeffmarc Hi Jeff... Not taking anything. Other than cholesterol and gout scripts, but nothing new.

Yes, gout itself and some of its common prescription medications, like allopurinol and febuxostat, can interfere with sexual function, including climax,

You might ask your doctor about this.

Can you feel any sensation at all or does your penis feel numb? Others have had this issue and have reported success with stimulators/sex toys/vibrators, etc that increase the input to the nerves much more than penetrative sex can.

Really weird. I get aroused. Upon penetration, I can feel momentum building at base of penis. And then poof... it just goes away.

Thanks! I've been taking allopurinol for years, and never had a problem pre surgery.

@folmajt Yup, just cannot get there, I get it! You probably need extra stimulation ( even slight friction) to get you over the top.

I would suggest working on this solo so that you can maybe see what’s going on without any stress and no performance anxiety.
