Age related Dry Macular Degeneration

My sister was diagnosed with Dry Macular Degeneration a year ago.
It’s slow progressing. Her eye Dr recommended the new Light therapy that seems promising , approved by the FDA . But not yet widely researched.
Anyone has any experience/ advise with it?
