I am not familiar with prostate ablation. I had 30 rounds of proton radiation.
You said your PSA was 1.9 after procedure. How long after procedure was the test done? What was your original PSA prior to ablation?
What has your medical team told you of what to expect on PSA test?
My R/O said my long term goal for PSA was for it to remain under 1. I just had a 2.5 year mark and was .12
I am to have another PSA test in April. I have been warned by my R/Os, urologist, and my PCP to expect bumps up and down as I have a prostate. The goal is no consistent rise of PSA over time but slight bumps are not a problem.

Thank you for your response.
Any kind of ablation will lower PSA; removal/ablation by any means (water, laser, heat/ultrasound) will result in fewer cells producing PSA.
However, you don’t mention your initial PSA or why you were treated.

Tulsa Pro lowered my PSA from 8.6 to 0.7. I had 30 percent of my prostate ablated. Clinical studies show a median PSA reduction of 90% to 95% at 1-3 years.

2 ReactionsGood morning.
My Psa level before ablation was 4.1.
The biosy came back positive for cancer cells and I decided to that procedure.

Thank you for response.
@bravousgroup1 So you first had a biopsy which showed cancer (Gleason score?) and then had the ablation…correct?
