4cm ascending aorta
Hi I was recently diagnosed with a 4 cm ascending aorta, as well as mild mitral and tricuspid regurgitation. I am very active and told I still can be to a degree but no heavy lifting over 15 lbs. I am very anxious and I have an echo stress test in 2 weeks. Has anyone one here been diagnosed with both ? I’m 5’5” and 120 with low blood pressure but almost like pressure is left chest and back area.

My husbands is 4.2 and he has mitral valve issue also. He has never been given a restriction on lifting. He had high blood pressure , but we finally got it under control.

1 ReactionI’m 72 year old male and have had one in the 4.0 cm size range for about five years . My BP is high but well controlled with the meds I take. ( keeps it under 120/80 ).
I exercise pretty vigorously but don’t use heavy weights. If anything , I think it is beneficial. Ask your Doc about that.
Also, if you’re being tested by Echocardiogram, it should give you a measurement of your Ejection Fraction. It is a measure of the strength of your heart. Mine improved a lot since I started exercising.
