Questions about Blood Tests Results after PRRT treatment
My wife completed her 4th PRRT treatment in late August 2023.
We are aware of the impact of the treatment relative to CBC (Hemogram) test results, however, there remains concerns about which test results are too low.
We have been told by one of her providers that her post - treatment results maybe "the new norm". Frankly, this appears to be a lame response.
Some of the latest results (units omitted for brevity):
WBC: 2.61
RBC: 3.26
Hemoglobin: 10.4
Hematocrit: 32
Platelet Count: 149
Four other test results are within "normal range".
Questions: (I understand everyone is different ....but)
1. Is there specific test(s) that we need to more concerned about?
2. We know diet is very important - what food) recommendations help to improve these results?
3. Any suggestions / comments / recommendations will be sincerely appreciated!
She is consulting with a nutritionist but she believes other suggestions may be helpful.
Thanks,
Mark

Teresa:
Yes to both parts of your question - we are very blessed to be able to answer with this response.
A member of her care team recently stated for about 75% of patients who have received PRRT treatment, blood levels will return close to pre - PRRT levels & this recovery will take 6 to 12 months.
Many thanks,
Mark
Just completed my first Lutathera treatment on Thursday. I can’t say enough how comforting the medical staff at Mayo Jax made me feel. Next steps will be the blood results. I’m also involved with a clinical study, CHIP and Hematological toxicity after PRRT in Neuroendocrine Tumor patients. The purpose is for studying and investigating genetic changes that could be associated with blood cancers after treatment.
