I've been experiencing some slight pains in my right testicle

Posted by ejlouboutin16 @ejlouboutin16, Mar 31, 2016

Hello, ever since this Sunday I have been experiencing some slight pains in my right testicle, and it has been on and off during certain times. I did look up at the symptoms of testicular cancer, however I am not experiencing any back pain, swollen or tender breasts, heaviness in the scrotum, enlargements of that one testicle, not pain in the abdomen. However, I have felt I tiny lump in my right testicle, and I don't know why that is. Yet I don't suspect it's testicular cancer, but what could it be?

Hi @ejlouboutin16 and welcome to Connect. Many different things can cause testicle pain and it is generally advised to see a doctor if the pain lasts for more than a few days. I found some information on some of the causes and symptoms that I hope you'll find useful: http://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/testicle-pain/basics/when-to-see-doctor/sym-20050942

I also wanted to connect you to @JayE5 who has reached out with similar concerns in the past.

Have you considered seeing a specialist about this?

@ejlouboutin16, Connect is an online community where patients can talk with other patients, ask questions and share experiences. We cannot provide a diagnosis.

You should schedule an appointment with your primary doctor first, and together you can discuss if you need to see a specialist and which kind. If you like, you can request an appointment with Mayo Clinic here: http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63

Did you read @JayE5's story about his experience with an aching testicle? Here's the thread https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/a-few-days-ago-one-of-my-testicles-started-aching-i-felt/

Hi @ejlouboutin16 how are you? I wanted to check in and see if you ever visited your primary doctor about this? Have you made progress in resolving the pain you experienced?

Hello @aliskahan, I am doing well, in fact when I went to the doctor, the pain was due to an epididymitis infection in the testicles, for which I was given medicine. But, I have been feeling better, so thankfully it is resolved.

I had sever pain in testicle a few times and went away by itself. use tight underwear or one size smaller to keep them from dangling !!!!.

I have been diagnosed with severe epididymitis at least 2 months ago. Been to primary care, urologist, and at least 2 Infectious disease doctors; no cure yet. I have had pills, intravenous antibiotics (3 applications) of different types. I am at witts end. I have more appointments scheduled.

In about a week. Feeling a bit better, Advil was recommended and seems to help.

I have just begun another round of daily intravenous treatments. I'm 7 days into it. My Urologist wanted to put me in hospital for a day and a (pardon my jest) perform a roto rooter of my prostrate. There are differing opinions of the need for this procedure at this time. As usual I am still waiting for a definitive outcome. Three years and holding.
