Heart rate still not normal

Posted by lori55 @lori55, May 24, 2023

Had a echo, stress test, and wore a monitor twice. diagnoses was PVC.
nothing was found on any of the tests. However was put on Metoprolol 25mg and Losartan 25mg a day. have not felt better, if anything, I feel worse, I feel my heart beating abnormal fast often. I do have a Thyroid problem, Hypo most of my life, currently taking 175mg daily of Levothyroxine. I feel such anxiety over this Arrhythmia I'm experiencing.
I'm considering weening off both, and getting a new Dr

Hi Lori! Yes, that can be really scary. I have had an irregular heartbeat for most of my life and it seems it’s from anxiety, or so they tell me now. I rarely have it show up when I’m being monitored. I am a meditator and have learned to sometimes, not all of the time, get my heart to stop jumping out of my chest with breath work.
How long have you had this? And yea doctors don’t always have an answer as to why this is happening. I also have thyroid problems

I've been trying as many calming exercises as I can. I have such anxiety over my heart rate, I think I'm having a panic attack. I do deep breathing and meditation. I think this is connected to my Thyroid for sure. I feel like my body is all out of balance.. I see so many Dr.'s and no one can help me..

Lori, are you working with someone at a meditation center of some kind? Or doing it just on your own? If you go to the meditation center they will help you to find a better way to help you calm yourself down with meditation. I know that I have to be very aware that I am not setting myself off by worrying so much about my crazy heartbeat and then it’s a vicious circle isn’t it?

How high is your pulse..my pulse is 90 to 100 with metropol ...I am going to tell the cardiologist I want off ..my pulse is the same and I have gained weight on it..can a high pulse be that bad for you ..I dont think 90 to 100 is too high ..it goes down to 80 when I go to bed .cardio never told me why it is that rate..maybe some people just have higher heart rate ....

I had cancer of my thyroid so had it removed about 15 years ago. I have afib and 3 failed ablations. I recently started Cranial Sacral Therapy and my heart seems to have calmed down. My cardiologist may tell me differently but I don't feel it jumping and flipping in my chest anymore. It may not be for everyone but it has certainly helped me. I think when you are anxious about afib you will try anything.
