Ruptured disks (C5-6 and C6-7) and am in constant pain

Posted by Renia @Renia, Jan 4, 2016

I am looking for any kind of answers that anyone can offer. I had a ruptured disk(C5-6), fixed 06/2012, just to have C6-7 fixed four months later. I was doing fine with headaches. In about July of 2013 I started to experience bad migraines. I called my neurologist and he requested a ct scan. Then I found out that the first surgery that I had done did not take. So a week in the hospital and a double fusion later, did not help, for I caught staff in the hospital and had to have emergency surgery 12 days later. Since then I have became disabled with the worst headaches ever, neck pain, and spasms. Since then I still have MRIs done on a routine basis, there are two more disks that are bulging, and the famous C5-6, is now bulging. I am in so much pain as well as finding out that I have cervical vertigo, on top of being diagnosed with migrainosis, I think that is what my DR. stated. I deal with being afraid to drive for fear of getting dizzy. I live with constant pain. I have looked for different doctors to look at my tests to see if there is anything that maybe has been over looked. And nothing. Has anyone out there been in the same situation as myself? If so what did you do to avoid all this pain?

Renia, Are you on any medication? I have has severe pain with herniated discs, almost had surgery, got through the pinched nerve after 6 months, still having some neck problems,,,,but did find out that the NSAID pain killers like ibuprofen, advil, aleeve, did not agree with me long term, and might have contributed to my dizzyness,,,,I was taken phenytoin for a siezures, and believe that combo dont mix,,,,,so making some medication changes here,,,,hang in there

Gator jaws
I have had the infusion done on all of the discs u mentioned. I had surgery in June of 08. My Dr..is Dr. Paul Canale of Alabama spinal institute. I have a plate and 6 screws holding everything into place. I have had no problems since then, but I will say my Dr. Went ahead and did a fusion on C-6&7 as a precautionary method because he knew those discs would be next. I HAVENT experienced any pain at all. Unless you have a severe underlying problem I would definitely seek a second opinion to clear the air once and for all. Mr Dr.Paul Canale is the best in the U.S. He is in Daphne Alabama. Hope this helps you.
