spend the day working with no issues, soon as I lay down problemhappen

one and off I have pain, sometimes extreme pain, lasts up to 12 hours long sometimes to the point where I get no sleep for 3 days straight. I work from home at my desk. When work is over I learned to go to sleep when/if I am not in pain until staying up and going to sleep later because the pain might happen later and I end up awake all night and get no sleep.

But the past several days/weeks? even when I have days of relatively little or no pain when I lay down on my right side, my big toe starts throbbing (there is no big toe it's been amputated the pain happens in the foot behind the wound where the toe used to be and it's deeps inside but feels like a big toe). I switch to my left side so I can rub the big toe, right foot, on the bed to relieve the pain and the top of the foot start up prickly tingly painful feeling. When that happens I would lay on my left side so I can rub the top of my foot on the bed to relieve the pain. So i end up not being able to sleep because I can't rub both sides of my foot at the same time.

I think it's because either I stop being distracted and can concentrate on the pain or because I elevate the foot that causes my neuropathy to flare up?

I need to stop it because once it does this and I get up, the pain slowly gets worse even when I am up and I end up getting no sleep and I have to work again the next day.

Now I also have the periods of time of middle to extreme pain that happens on a random basis with no known cause or specific issue that I can pin down causing it to happen.

the pic on the left started off as a tiny cut and the pic on the right is how it looks now though a bit cleaner with less dead skin on it.

Meditate (or focus) on the pain free foot. This helps me.
