A few days ago one of my testicles started aching

A few days ago one of my testicles started aching, i felt around and it felt somewhat more firm/swollen than the other one. Since then the swelling has gone down but it is still consistently achy... No real pain, just discomfort. I thought I'd wait a few days before calling someone.
No there are not any distinguished lumps, maybe something that barely feels like a vein or something but thats it.
I am sexually active, but only with one person and we are both clean. And haven't had any recent 'trauma' to my lower regions recently either.
Anyone have any tips?

Hi @JayE5. Welcome to Connect and thanks for reaching out. Testicle pain can be caused by many different things and shouldn't be ignored. I've included a link below from Mayo Clinic that describes testicular pain and the various possible causes. There's also a section about when you should see a doctor. http://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/testicle-pain/basics/definition/sym-20050942

They suggest to see your doctor if you have mild pain lasting for a few days, so it sounds like you should make an appointment right away. It may be nothing, but your doctor will want to rule more serious possibilities out.

How many days have you been having the pain or discomfort?

Thanks @JayE5. If you've been experiencing the discomfort for three days, it might be time to reach out to your doctor and let them know what you're experiencing. Have you ever experienced these symptoms before?

Consider the possibility of nerve injury - inguinal nerve branches off the lower spine, comes around top of pelvis, descends into groin. Can feel like testicular torsion, can be one- or both-sided, yet origin is not in testicles

Thought I'd just update this post for anyone else suffering and freaking out like I was.
went to two doctors as the problem persisted over several weeks just to have them both reassure me it was just a standard Epiditymitus.

Took a bunch of turmeric supplements, ate healthy, and pretty much back to normal now!
Ahh, the fine print of being a male....

Hi @JayE5 , that's great to hear and I bet it's a weight off your shoulders. Thanks for coming back to share your experience! Did your doctors recommend that you keep up the turmeric supplements, or is that a one-time thing?

They didn't really say anything on the supplement, I take it daily now in smaller doses just a a preventative as it just reduces inflammation. <br />
