I've had stage 3 chronic kidney disease since 2009 following my chemotherapy, which did my kidneys into this stage. Seeing my oncologist every 6 months, then 3 months when they draw blood "they can and do often monitor the GFR ratio. That tells the rate at which your kidneys are operating. If you seek more precise information, I would see a Nephrologist (kidney doctor).

You need to check creatinine level too.

What kind of chemo? Any body aches and pains?

The chemo I had after 28 radiation treatments began with intravenious adriamyacin and streptozocin (2 cycles) they told me it could affect my heart or kidneys up to five years later in life. That was followed with 12 cycles of Sutent (targeted chemo) and 3 cycles of Affinitor (also targeted chemo) for kidneys.
