Hi Howard, I would suggest that you go to the 'Disease and Conditions' section on the Mayo Clinic site and read about the symptoms associated with liver disease. Fatigue is one of the bothersome symptoms. I experienced fatigue when I was sick with liver disease prior to my liver/kidney transplant. My fatigue seemed to come and go at varying degrees. But as my disease developed to cirrhosis the fatigue became a constant. It is not an easy think to live with. If you can do it, take the time to allow yourself time to rest when you can, and cut down on unnecessary tasks and stress, if you can. As far as the calm before the storm, as you say, your best bet is to take care of yourself as best you can. That way whenever that storm develops, you will be ready for it.
Hoping for the best, Rosemary.
