I wanted to reach out to Lori. My husband is now 43 days out from his transplant and besides the fungus/infection in his lungs he is doing superb. This is first day we haven’t needed magnesium and they are starting to lower anti rejection meds. We have graduated to once a week visits and also getting IV antibodies. So did transplant outpatient except for two visits for a week each for temps. First yes, engraftment they said and second time spot on lungs ? Fungus or bacterial so changed fungal meds and had to come daily for IV antibiotics. So knock on wood two weeks is not bad. So anyone contemplating transplant it is well worth life. At 35 days biopsy showed no cancer and who’s who 99%. We feel blessed and prayers being answered. Thanks for support.

Hi @jrwilli1 you found me! 😉 I was actually just going through my notes to followup on my transplant members and saw that you posted!
I’m so happy your husband is doing much better. The lung issue is unfortunate but not uncommon early in the game. He’s almost half way to his 100 day period! I know it’s not a magical number but it is critical milestone and it’s really encouraging that his biopsy is clean.

This is such a stressful time for both of you but your husband has cleared some big hurdles already. He should be gaining some stamina and a little more energy by now. With not having as many trips to the clinic, I’m expecting your lives are now taking on a little more normalcy. It will continue to get better. ☺️ He’ll be feeling pretty good by summer!

I’m going to attach a link below for you. This is where we left off before so that we can pick up there with future chats. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/818355/

Are you planning on attending this Bone Marrow Transplant Support group meeting on April 5th?
