Abnormal stress test 11 years after cabg.... reoperation???

Posted by duke10987 @duke10987, Mar 28, 2023

In 2012 at age 34 I had chest pain during exercise. Had stress test and had lad 100% blocked. Did single bypass with mammary artery. I am on all kinds of meds which I take everyday. Also have stress test every year. 2023 March 27th I had a stress test using the lexiscan drug because my heart rate never gets high enough on treadmill. First time without treadmill. Find out later I had a mild abnormality is what I think doc called it in the new lad. Next morning I had chest pains but I think they were in my head. Went to e.r. doc called me while in waiting room and told me about the abnormality and that a Cath was not mandatory but due to my past he thinks it's a good idea. Since I was already in er he admitted me and scheduled it for tomorrow instead of 10 days later. March 29th is the procedure. I'm scared to death of what the results will be. I also don't want a stent that is unnecessary but only done because of my chest pains that very well might be mental. I have exercised almost everyday for ten months. No problems. Hoping it was false positive. If I need surgery how will that happen if I already had it done once? I'm 45 and have a five year old daughter. Any advice or help will be appreciated.

I dad a heart attack and was given 4 stents. A year later I went again to the cath lab because something felt wrong. However, I checked out OK but my message to you is that the second time in the cath lab was no big deal. I wish you all the best. By the way all this happened12 yrs ago, I'm 71 and feeling great...good luck !

Just an update. Had my Cath done today. Everything was good, false positive stress test apparently. There was nothing that needed to be stented or anything. Just wanted to update for anyone who may be in similar situation. Positive (bad) stress test doesn't mean there is a major problem. But it's worth investigating to be sure. Thanks.
