Help with RSR
Hey guys: does Anyone( not connected to the hospital) have any numbers or percentages of how many people have to go back in the OR
for any reason after the above surgery?
I’m a yr& half out and it was good for about 10 months & now it’s a mess. Done all the tests & the surgeon says he had no idea.
I ask this because I’m going to see him tomorrow & I know he’s going to ask me for permission to go back & scope it out.
Thanks everybody,
Joe B

I did not need any additional surgery, but I did have shoulder pain and problems about 9-10 months out from my rRSR after a perfect recovery without pain and good range of motion. I developed sharp pain at certain angles of movement, and general soreness. I assumed it was from overuse and hauling heavy objects and garden hoses from my summer gardening. It got worse during a week long vacation out of town, so I finally went in to my ortho doctor when we returned. Pain of various levels had been bothering me for about a month by that time. Xrays showed prosthesis was where it should be, blood tests showed no infection, so I was referred to rehab. My preferred rehab guy was booked up for two weeks, and by the time I got in to see him, the shoulder had slowly gotten better on it's own and was normal. I did see him and ask for exercises that might prevent this from happening again. So you can certainly get various kinds of muscle and tendon strains and bursitis which may have nothing directly to do with the implant. The total time for my pain to appear and then resolve itself was 6-8 weeks. I have been fine since.
