Post Covid internal vibrations & hair loss

Posted by karendn @karendn, Nov 8, 2022

Hi, I’m a 61 yo woman who spent 16 days in ICU with bilateral. Pneumonia, acute kidney failure, acute respiratory failure & acute hypokalemia in Nov-Dec of 2021. To back up, I have had “Battles” with severe sepsis & septic shock off & on for the past 22 months & the etiology is still unknown! So after my last hospitalization in May, I noticed my hair was no longer falling out by the buckets after Covid; it was literally GONE within 5 days! I have been to every medical discipline known to man. They don’t know why I continue to get septic; but agree my hair loss is 100% due to long Covid. I guess I just assumed it was from the stress to my body from all 13 sepsis hospitalizations. About 8-10 weeks post Covid I had mild internal vibrations! Just brushed it off. Then they became more frequent, harder & lasting up to 2-3 hours. At first, I accused my friend of having a couch that vibrates. She looked at me like I’d lost my marbles & said “there is nothing vibrating”. Of course I insisted she come sit where I was & feel for herself… nothing. I said “well feel my arm”… she said “I don’t feel anything”. Then I stood up & said “Oh Sh…, the floor is vibrating really hard!” And again “NOPE”. I’ve been to a couple Dr.’s who have no idea why this is happening. I have an appointment with a Neurologist in Dec. & hopeful for some answers! I’m so darn grateful I came across this website!! I’m shocked AND relieved that so many others suffer these vibrations. Mine happen more frequently when I lay down to sleep; but happen in addition to that at least 2-3 times during the day. When they are severe, I can’t walk around or drive. Mine are throughout my entire body. My feet & head are the worst. I feel my entire body jumping ; it amazes me that no one can see or feel them. My brain & teeth even feel like they are “trembling” ! Since I’ve gotten no answers, I’ve learned to just embrace it until someone comes up with a definitive DX &/or TX!! Now I just go lay in my bed & turn on my bed vibrator as high as it will go for as long as it takes! When my bed is vibrating, it makes my internal vibrations feel less apparent! I don’t venture out too far anymore because I’m a bit paranoid it will happen in public where there may not be a chair! I definitely lost my career probably indefinitely due to my health, which before sepsis was great! I have memory issues also; so working in a hospital caring for patients isn’t in the cards! In this journey of mine; I’ve had to rely on my new “motto” … “PAIN shapes a woman into a WARRIOR!” And for the gal that I ran across also with hair loss issues; I share this with you: “You don’t need hair to wear your crown honey!” Peace & Love 💕 God Bless y’all, “May you find comfort from your afflictions through Jesus Christ our Lord & Savior”!! Stay faithful 🙏🏼🫶🏼♥️🙌🏼

I HAD COVID SEPT. 1, ALWAYS HAD THICK HAIR, NOTICED PILLOWCASE HAS HAIR ON IT, SINK. MY HAIR IS SHORT AND THICK, OR WAS THICK. IT GOT SO THIN AND I LOST A LOT IN THE FRONT. I STARTED USING ROSEMARY OIL. THE ONE I GOT WAS ON AMAZON BY MAPLE PRODUCTS. ONLY PROBLEM IS NO MATTER HOW YOU WRAP IT., IT SMELLS THRU THE BOTTLE. A VERY LIGHT MENTHOL LIKE SMELL, NOT OVER POWERING. I STARTED PUTTING 6 DROPS ON MY SCALP WHERE THE HAIR LOSS IS, LEAVE ON FOR 10 MINUTES AND THEN RINSE OFF AND SHAMPOO HAIR AS USUAL. ITS BEEN MY 2ND. WEEK, I DO IT 3 TIMES A WEEK, ON THE DAYS I SHAMPOO MY HAIR. I ALREADY NOTICE THE HAIR LOSS ON MY PILLOW IS HARDLY VISIBLE ANYMORE. I WILL USE FOR ANOTHER 3 MONTHS. STUDIES SAY IT DOES JUST AS GOOD AS MONOXIDIL, BUT NO SIDE EFFECTS AT ALL , NATURAL. I WISH YOU A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

I ALSO SUFFER FROM SEVERE PERSPIRING, I MEAN BEYOND ANYTHING YOU CAN HAVE. FROM HEAD TO TOE, SO BAD THAT I DEVELOPED A HEAT RASH THE SIZE OF A BRICK UNDER MY LEFT BREAST FROM THE MOISTURE. BALMEX TOOK CARE OF THAT. IVE ALSO READ ITS POST COVID. ITS BEEN ABOUT 10 WEEKS SINCE I CAUGHT COVID, THE COUGHING AND CHEST HEAVINESS IS GONE AFTER TAKING STEROIDS AND NEBULIZER TREATMENTS, HOPING THIS PERSPIRING DOES THE SAME.

I have had buzzing and internal (tremors) vibrations and muscle spasms since May 5, 2022 but never got Covid until June 6th? So it’s a real dilemma because I got Covid after my tremors started. I’ve had 3 vaccines before I got these weird sensations. Between my PCP, neurologist, and Cardiologist all my testing results are negative. The vibrations are slowing down to the p.m. timeframe and the buzzing is subsiding as well. It’s been a crazy ride because you just want to run away from your body. It’s very difficult to explain because I look fine. No one sees that I am having any issues.

@karendn, welcome. You have had more than your fair share of battles with and since COVID. With the whole family being at the frontlines of COVID - RN, fightfighter and doctor - I'm sure you're also seen more than most, too.

I get it also and what I found that was helpful is putting my bed in the zero gravity position with my adjustable base. I find laying flat or laying on my left side intensifies the vibrations. Then one day it just stops and few weeks or months ago by and it’s back so I have no idea why. White noise machine is helpful too!

Lolaruns, thank you for your input. I'm sorry to hear that it returned after subsiding for some weeks or months? That would be frustrating. How long have you had these vibrations at night. I'm now at 4 to 5 months post Covid. Thx.

I first got the vibrations back in September 2021. At that time it wasn’t that strong and only in my abdomen. It only lasted a week. Then it came back in March 2022. This time around it was from head to toe and so loud inside my body and intense that it I actually thought the floors were vibrating but it was just me. This lasted for two months. It was difficult to sleep as it was worse at night and just annoying during the day. It has now come back again the night of thanksgiving. I am suspecting that eating sweets and carbs may be contributing because I went on a strict diet few months ago and have been fasting now and the vibrations are subsiding. I’m hoping it goes away soon and doesn’t get as intense as it was back in March.

For the record Karen, you definitely make bald beautiful! I had covid not that long ago, 10-14-22 and I considered it a very mild case. However, the post covid symptoms have been off the chain horrible! I did lose a lot of hair but I'm sorry to say...no solution...yet : )
On the inner body shaking, buzzing, tremors-whatever you want to call it- as soon as I could LOOK at a pill without just the idea making me want to vomit, I started taking my Ashwagandha again. Flat out MIRACLE herb. The buzzing got better quickly and STOPPED COMPLETELY within a few days of getting up to my normal dose. Yours sounds way more intense so it may not help but it's got to be easier on your system than ANY rx med they put you on! Worth a try, right?I take 1300 mg daily, on a bad day I might take it twice. It also helped my PTSD, Anxiety, depression, insomnia and best of all for me....that awful brain fog. Am I cured? No! Am I better? MUCH! You should consult with a local natural heath store. Tell them your trouble and let them help you figure out how much to take. I take a pretty big dose but have not experienced anything but good results. Best wishes, Renee

Yes in regards to vibrations and jolts and twitches especially when laying down the other day I was in my car speaking with a passenger and all of a sudden my entire body felt like it was being electrocuted he not it and asked me you okay? Scary sensation, usually it’s just leg, lip, eye, legs, back… but this time it was from head to toe, I read about it it’s called “MYOCLONUS” it’s almost like baby seizures… it’s unreal how the virus does so much to our system and no one has any proven solutions. We are are research subjects.
